Loft Tour | Edmonton, Canada
Why stay in a hotel when you can have a whole apartment?
You may be thinking I choose a hotel because it feels safe, they are in a central location for a traveller to not waste time. They are clean!
I can’t deny these things, but why limit yourself to just this option? In a regular hotel room or studio apartment, often the bed always dominates. No matter how you cut it, you have a bed and and a bath (or shower). This is good, especially if it is clean and you’re tired. But there are other options…
The high ceilings, open floor plan, generous windows, industrial architecture and sweeping skyline views immediately drew me in. The chilling wind at dusk kept me settled in, ready to enjoy my bath! This Edmonton Loft is raw, creative and impossible not to fall for.
The large windows with panoramic views over the dynamic city are the focal point, especially if you arrive at night time! It was a really nice change after we had been through the Rockies and countless small towns. The space is a mixture of an inviting home with contemporary features but, at the same time, has enhanced the industrial context of the original building.
The loft has a chic industrial look in a uber cool building right next to the train station. I always feel a bit weird staying in the heart of a city with people out on the streets in the morning and night- I can head home from a day trip at ten and be up and gone before 6am. I was surprised by the doorman and equally happy to see his friendly face and helpful nature over the next day or two!
The large kitchen table can be used to work across time zones, host dinner or gently rest your head after making a blog deadline. You decide. Then feel free to change your mind. And plunge into the couch either to watch a movie or admire the view. The views can be admired from different angles thanks to the huge windows situated on two sides.
The Loft’s sleeping area, with super fluffy queen size bed, is hidden from the rest of the area. The bathroom’s spacious shower and the fully equipped kitchen is capable of pumping out the perfect espressos in the morning and the tastiest of pastas at night. There is also plenty of storage space for your suitcases
The loft is perfect for those seeking a temporary Edmonton residence for any length of time – a base for a couple of days or a few months. A really soothing combination of comfort and efficiency for being in the centre of it all, or just observing.
